What people are saying about mobile on Twitter

Today I’ll be doing something different. I’ll be scanning Twitter for any interesting tidbits about the mobile telephony industry and what people are saying, feeling and sharing about their mobile experiences.

That means, each of these won’t be more than 140 characters and hopefully I’ll also be able to provide links to most of them, substantiating the tweets.

Let’s begin…

1. From @kingsleymaunder: Nielsen found that only 10% of US teens had no regular access to a mobile phone.

2. From @ManiKarthik: Google Now Finds Stuff Nearby Using Your Location in Mobile Safari. http://bit.ly/sWpfn

3. From @AliciaAs: Britain’s mobile internet habits laid bare! http://bit.ly/VwrlU

4. From @DerbyshireNews: A TEENAGER was punched in the face and robbed of his mobile phone when he was attacked by two youths. http://bit.ly/nQpnB (Not just in South Africa then)

5. From @Cliff: Woman on mobile in the lift: “I don’t have time to stop, but we are stopping at the third floor. I’ll wave at you as the door opens.”  (What???)

6. From @SkyMobile: Can’t get in front of a tv for the second #ashes test? Don’t forget Sky Mobile TV to watch the action. (And a bit of marketing from Sky)

7. From @Beinspired2: O how i like mobile devices. Checking my email in the sun.

8. From @MobileZeitgeist: Coca-Cola lauches free mobile credit campaign. http://bit.ly/a4eZC (Great idea)

9. From @Insomniacinsf: Testing mobile twittering… (There are a lot of people tweeting this)

And finally…I thought I’d just pop this one in for good measure:
